DUDE. I have a 93 year old customer, Buffalo Soldier if I may add, and he went to the inauguration and he was sooo happy. “Happy for the world” is the expression he kept using.
You can feel the energy in the air and I anticipate that it’ll remain for a while…but for it stay Obama has got a long hard road ahead of him to accomplish what we desire.
I’m rambling. Glad you’re back on, distracts me from my bank shit.

WHAT THIS HISTORIC – MYSTORIC EVENT MEANS TO ME….
On the 29th of April 2009 my 15yr old son and I will become full time residents of the United States of America, Why because for the first time in my lifetime and experience of this world. I know the best place for my young black man to thrive is in this land.
There will be struggles ahead and there will be dissappointments but one thing will remain. One of the most powerful countries on our worlds stage has a black man as it’s leader.
For the majority of my adult years I have been involved in activly striving towards what we see today. There have been years of fraustrations, anger and tears and pain felt at the hands of others. Now the tears fall and release a deep sense of ease.
May THE MOST HIGH GOD bless, guide and keep us on the road towards true equality and peace.
AS IT WAS WRITTEN……

I saw the BET Inaugeration special where you performed and you sang a song called “I Have A Dream.” I LOVE IT!!! I was watching MTVHits and saw the video for it. How can I get it? What a powerful song. I am a 40 yr old white woman who has never seen color. I believed what I was taught in Sunday school that Jesus loved the little children of the world, red and yellow, black and white, they are ALL precious in His sight. It is about time America opened its eyes and put color aside. People are the painting of life. It would be boring with just one color. God Bless!!!!!!!

yo dude, you have to get yo-yo-ma on a joint, how tight would that be? that performance he gave before the speech was magic, pure emotion. very fitting.

Oh my God! I just clicked on the HIP HOP Schoolhouse link and saw how you have expanded that Common Foundation site. That is so impressive and needed, ie. the Corner Book Club. I have a lot of trouble promoting the importance of routine independent reading with the youths I work with. However, I am not discouraged. I think I might try the site as a resource. KUDOS Common!!!!!!!!! XOXOXO

It was so humbling to see how many people turned out for the Inauguration. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend, but either way I was moved. People of all color were there. I couldn’t help, but to get emotional. It’s awesome that you took the time to show your experience & show to us fans Your very fortunate to have been involved with piece of history. It was funny watching people recognize you and watching you take pictures. lol Takes tons of patience being a celebrity huh? lol Good Luck to you Common. Peace. Love & Prosperity
