Absolute FAIL.
The song is tight but the video is CRAP. What had the potential to be a classy, well-written and RELEVANT video to a sweet song turned out to be another T&A video that objectifies women and makes them look like nothing more than titty-shaking leg-spreading hoochies with no class or substance.
I expected soooo much more from Drake, honestly, what the hell was that?

I’m just at a loss. As a woman, there is basically no reason to even support hip hop anymore. The constant disrespect…its just baffling and so unnecessary. These men don’t have mothers and daughters? As much as I love the male body I would never reduce it to just chests and abs and dick shots the way male rappers do female parts. What happened to the art? Do you really need this much sex (sexism really) to sell a record?
And its hard because I love hip hop. I’m talkin about the real shit: tribe, de la, queen, common, nas, pac, roots, lupe, talib, mos def, jean grae, etc. But when you see shit like this, its just depressing. I’m starting to wish the genre would just die so that the most popular people in it it wouldn’t keep getting away with doing everything they can to set women back 100 yrs every time they speak or make a video or perform.

There is no way kanye was the director,….may b drake should of signed with some one elsee, i dont kno how this video has anything to do with the song i guess the girls are on DRAKES TEAM but how were they the best when the lost very badly and if it wasent for the girls no one would have watched it, its also crazy that ther are random rappers and singers in the video for no reason..i guess he thought he was still on the baskerball team of degrassi lol fyi they mite wanna make a remix video to redeem kanye’s work!

Whats really interesting about this video is that I think on a deeper level it expresses how much the song is BULLISH to ladies. Its kinda sad too, like a big pipe dream and that’s how some of these young ladies get treated when they get involved with this Rap cats. i think Knaye failed to make a good video for this. Too much shit in slow motion, and nothing is even going on for the most part, its just a bunch of video ho’s stretching and then a slow motion ball game. There clearly is a message, but I don’t know Drake like that to clarify his point. What is apparent (Tay hit on it the best from what I could read of his comment) is that this is more reverse psychology then anything else. Women being force fed that their the best simply from their external appearance is the farce. One chic even admitted that all Drake gave them was how to stretch! What she was saying was her preparation was moot. Consider these points:
- The basketball game is the competitiveness of life in general
- Drakes’ girls uniform was how you display yourself to the world, hence the packed audience (all that attention)
- The other team represented your competition. They were bigger, stronger, and not one dimensional – real life
- The score was most evident – If you dont prepare for real world events, you’re gonna get smashed!

I dont know dude, but if there is any correlation to my comments and his intentions, that dude’s a genius!! Now Kanye is just plainly a genius (and a gay-fish, but that’s for another time)!! I don’t know too many new millenium male rap genere followers who havent already bookmarked this video somewhere on their computer to watch over and over and over and over again!!! That’s marketing genius!!! This is the world we live in, whether you like it or not!!! Filth sells! I don’t co-sign it, but I understand it! So I just watch the video and then I went to Drake’s blog to see what the hell he was thinking. There isn’t a deeper meaning. He is basically saying that every girl is the F**K’in best, kinda just like the song “Every Girl”. I love Drake, his So Far Gone mixtape, everything, but after watching this video I am NOT impressed. The video didn’t even seem that creative or worth the money that was spent to film it. I just hope Drake will make it up to his fans in his next video…

ok so I came across an article stating that Drake claimed to have a deeper meaning behind the video. SO I watched the video before I read the article. My guess was that he’d chosen women for the wrong reasons (as can be explained in the video), and that it takes more than a pretty face, sexy bouncing breats, and luscious, tight bottoms to win the game (which I’ll assume is is a metaphor for his heart or success in a relationship). I even anticipated team Drake losing even after the pep talk and that’s what happened. I went back to read his defense, and it was on a similar line.

So I’ll agree that it degrades women, but I admit it’s a pretty presumptuous and clever way to make such a statement. Now it involves the song because he told all that they were the best… and they weren’t! It’s moreso satirical irony. I’ll mention that no one who likes the song should complain about how sexually charged the video is when the song is basically talking about sex and that’s she’s the best (sex)

I agree with you Disgusted, very well put. All I have to say is The song is absolutely beautiful. The best love song of the year. He talks about not only does this ONE girl, stand out above all the rest with his deep love for her, but he straight up tells you she ROCKS HIS WORLD in bed and the sex is amazing. And that just makes the total love you can feel for your mate complete and I swear to you its the best feeling in the world. So Why a whole team of girls Drake? Why not just that beautiful one? Or maybe even not so beautiful? How about a REAL looking girl that even through a computer or TV screen it is most obvious you just can’t breathe with out this girl??
