I saw the movie opening night. The movie was very dark...the actors were superb!!! I read the book in the 90's. When I read it I thought damn....they should make this a film. Cool OPrah supported the film. I thimk she should have supported the novel PUSH. She should have listed it in her book club! I went to an independent theater and you already know that there weren't many other black people in it. With that being said, the giggling wore me out too. When the two actresses were laughing at the baby wrapped in a bloodied blanket, i percieved it as they were nervous or high and didn't really get that severity of the situation. Just not sure why the audience followed the mentality of the actresses instead of undetstanding the reality of the scene... Independ theaters depicting minority groups tend to host a "majority" audience that can't relate to such situations. Kind of disturbing.
