its not about the fact that common is talking about fashion. The problem is that he is supporting another kind of fashion, now. This is something for the establishment, not for the normal peoeple and this is where he s from. His music and this pics are not connectable and does not stick together.

wow daria… you went a long way to get a dig in. and it actually says in the post the collection is drawing from the brand’s “military heritage.” despite the comment, you’re still one of my fave cartoons. you should find other outlets since the show’s over though, because lurking artists’ sites to find something negative to post…kinda beneath you.

And sorry, I normally ignore idiots, but I have to respond: First of all @daria, I dare you to call Common a wimp to his face! Second, he never said “the military thing” was a new phenomenon…he just said he liked that they were drawing on their military heritage. I agree with LC – I think it’s awesome that as an artist Common can appreciate many forms of art and clue us in to his influences and tastes, from all forms. PS daria – Learn the difference between “its” and “it’s” please.

Whooo, did I miss something? I thought we were just suppose to look @ a bunch of pictures, of overpriced clothing. I’d wear the 1st coat myself, if it were in black. I’ll just leave it @ that.

@ daria- now I respect everyone’s opinion, however the comment you posted was so unwarranted. Rappers are not a monolith. The subject matter of their music doesn’t always have to be about pimps, hoes, etc. If you were a TRUE fan of Common’s, you would know that that was never what he was about. What’s wrong with a rapper blogging about fashion? A genuine artist appreciates all forms of art whether it be music, fashion or a random stroll through the Louvre. Since when does that make a man (rapper) gay? If you don’t like what Common, Kanye, etc raps about, don’t listen to it then. There is no need to be demeaning.

“Rap used to be the new rock n roll”??? Well, rock n rollers used to have long hair, wear make-up and paint there nails. But that’s not “gay”??? Russel Simmons and Jay-Z frequent fashion shows… does that make them “gay”? Give me a break!

@Common- Love the Burberry collection babe. I can definitely see you rockin’ it and looking oh so sexy. ;0)

When did rap get so gay? Rap used to be the new rock n roll. Then wimps like Kanye and Common started doing their thing. I think rap is dead because it has lost it’s hard edge. Now they’re rapping about clothes alongside Lady Gaga. And this is coming from a gay dude!
