Yesterday, Nike launched their (Nike) Red campaign in London. Buying (PRODUCT) RED laces, which are specifically designed for football boots but can be worn by anyone, is just one of the things you can do to help fight AIDS in Africa: 100% of the proceeds go to the Global Fund and to Nike football-based programs.
So get involved, y’all. You can shop one of the many (RED) partners, from Nike to Converse to Apple OR you can donate directly to the Global Fund. But most importantly you can get tested, know your own status, and TALK ABOUT THE ISSUES.

I am soo damn sick of talented people all on the same backboneless tip. Common was one of my favorite rappers until today, when I hear this song. “I wanna poke her face” Really though!?! If Common is our conscious rapper, who the hell is actually going to be “Conscious” enough to stand up and make real music.
It’s easy to follow the path of misogeny ALMOST all rap music has gone down, I don’t know why I thought Common was one of our few beacon’s of lights as far as standing up for the beauty of the black community. But no, rather than stand up and be oh..CREATIVE enough to aspire to UPLIFT people with his music, he’d rather make a song about all the Headhe gets cause he’s famous and people with no self-confidence want his money enough to degrade themselves
Thank you for your contribution Common. Now the 11 year old’s I teach who grow up in broken homes with no guidance at how to love themselves enough to be strong enough to overcome their barriers will have another song to memorize that physically DEGRADES THEM!
So these babies can repeat the cycle of our community and grow into the midguided, 20-year-olds who want to “suck your conscious dick” because life gave little chance to know any better.
It’s ONE thing to hear crash egotistical degrading bullshit from people I expect that from…. but It is a whole nother let down to realize the people you thought you could look up to for leadership are just shallow shells of egotistical talent.
WAKE UP and mold yourself enough to CARE with CONSISTENCY, the world has ENOUGH talented ego-driven self-FIRST-committed artists already!
please stand up,
A Black – 22 year old teacher in a rotten school district with kids who need some DAMN music that will positively GUIDE them…..STAND UP and start with the man in the mirror, DAAAAMMIT!
