Ben Wilson, I Think of You (draft)

Monday, December 31

*I highly recommend everyone to watch ESPN's "30 for 30: Benji." It's been 28 years and the tragedy that this rising star met STILL PERSISTS TO THIS DAY!!!! We can learn from his life, his lost, and his mother's determination to bring good out of evil. Check ESPN's listings for showing or go to Amazon.com and buy the episode for $1.99.

Ben Wilson, I Think of You

Where have all the flowers gone?
They’re in heaven I say
The cold winds of this world
Carried them away
uprooted
misguided
misunderstood
neglected
Where have all the flowers gone?
They’re lost and alone
Because selfishness and pride
Were the seeds that got sown.
lost
abused
used
misconstrued
Where have all the flowers gone?
They’re deeply buried in fear
This world’s become too violent
And too much trouble is near
Silenced
Shunned
Scorned
Shamed
Where have all the flowers gone?
Their beauty is much needed
To bring life to this agony
Kill the strife that’s been seeded
dissed
dismissed
distanced
distressed
Where have all the flowers gone?
They’re in heaven I say
The evil of this world
Have carried them away
Murdered
Slain
Imprisoned
Gone.

What must it take to see our flowers?
To start feeding our flowers?
Nurturing them with water?
Sharing the sunlight?
How many more mothers and fathers
will drop tears in the soil
before this world starts
Protecting our flowers.
